What does the 'Extreme' fire hazard level mean?
The ban continues on all open burning and operation of most powered equipment. "Extreme Shutdown", indicating that most industrial operations, such as logging and lot clearing is suspended. (Due to the danger of spinning metal blades contacting rocks, etc., gas and electric lawnmowers are not allowed.)- visit gabriolafire.ca for more info. Electric weedeaters with nylon cord are permitted before 1pm, with a 1 hour watchman.
